5 Minute Makeup Challenge

If you have been following my blog for a while you will know I am definitely not one to get ready in a rush. Anyone who knows me will probably tell you that my biggest flaw, is that it takes me over an hour and half to get out of the door on a daily basis so I thought it would be super fun to film this video and take on the 5 minute makeup challenge!

A  lot friends and viewers had been requesting me to do a video showing a quick and easy routine that they could use on daily basis, and whilst i am not sure I would walk out of the ouse like this, it definitely doesn’t get quicker than 5 minutes so I hope you enjoy the video!

APRIL Favourites and Unfavorites

I am back with a monthly favourites and in this one, to add into the mix also has a couple of disappointing products in there. With Spring on our doorsteps a lot of brands have been launching their new collections and I was very excited to try out a few of them, especially when it came to lip products, however after trying a few of these at the counters themselves I was quite disappointed to find they really weren’t anything like I was expecting them to be. So I thought I would share my thoughts with you, just so you can avoid spending money on things you might not end up using. I feel this can especially be the case when you are shopping online, as swatches on screen can be quite deceiving and you can’t really tell what a texture will be like without trying a product on.

Other than that I am sharing with you my usual beauty, skin care and fashion favourites for the month of April so I hope you enjoy this video, and if you do please don’t forget to subscribe to my channel.

BY TERRY Sun Designer Palette | Product Review

By Terry is a brand I discovered very recently and I have only tried a couple of their products but I have to say so far I have been extremely impressed by every single one. For a long time I had heard so many Youtubers talk about their products but unfortunately the seriously hefty price tag always stopped me from purchasing them, as I wasn’t sure if I wanted to splurge so much money on something I wasn’t sure I would even like.

Their products tend not be anything revolutionary or that other brands don’t have, however after having tried them I can say their quality is incredible and in most cases nothing like what other brands have to offer, so I can say that so far the price tag is somewhat justified.

The first product I tried from this brand was a highlighting powder, very similar to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, but better! It is their Imperlious Voile de Pearle, and although its meant to be a highlighter I actually use it as a setting powder. I did a full blogpost on this item which I will link here.

Essie Couture Gel Range | Product Review

Nails are always something that have fascinated me. I know it might sound very weird but hands are something I notice almost at a first glance when I meet someone and I guess that is why having my nails done has always been such an integral part of my beauty routine. Although I can do my own nails, I must admit I have lost practice! There used to be a time when I could do a french manicure on myself but for the last 7 years, ever since I started working and had a bit of money to splurge I have been visiting Marcela’s Nails in Kensington religiously and getting my nails done by the wonderful and very talented Josefa.

The salon is tucked away in a quite street, and has a very latin cheerful vibe to it. Every nail technician is very skilled,  but Josefa and I have created a very special bond, and very week when I go on a Friday it almost feels like meeting up with a friend. Its an hour that I dedicate to myself, where I can de-stress and get pampered knowing I will walk out with perfect looking hands every time.  I am actually quite fussy about how I like my nails shaped and how my cuticle looks and I have to admit that till date Josefa is the only one who has fully understood me!

As you may have guessed from what you have read so far I am a creature of habit and this is not only for the salon I go to but also for the shades I use on my nails. My preferred ones are always sort of milky nudes or pinks or a very subtle french with a milky pink base and a very faint line on the tip. These colours although they look beautiful, don’t usually tend to last very long as in order to be opaque (I hate sheer shades on my nails) they  have quite a thick texture which makes it chip fairly quickly.

Josefa is definitely very talented and when she does my nails they always last much longer than when anyone else does them, but even so I have to admit that most of the time my nail colour only stays intact for 3 or 4 days, so I am always on the hunt for a nail polish that will prolong this. When CND’s Vinylux polishes came out I was super excited to try them, however they ended up chipping quicker than when I used normal polish. This is not to say that the Vinylux range isn’t good, because it has worked wonders on my mom (who has nails which are very prone to chipping), but it just didn’t really work on my nails, so since then I have just been sticking to using my normal Essie polish.

However, recently Essie came out with their version of CND’s Vinylux and it is the Essie Couture Gel Range and ever since I tried these I have been completely hooked. Firstly the colour selection is incredible especially if you are a nude lover like me. They have quite a few nudes and light pinks and my absolute favourite has to be the shade ‘Lace Me Up’ a very opaque milky pink almost identical to Essie ‘Peak Show’, which I was wearing non stop for almost a year until it was discontinued a fe months ago. However, the range is not just limited to nudes, and they do have some stunning reds, corals, pinks and pastel blues and greens, so there definitely is something for everyone.

This range has definitely impressed me not only because I love the colours but actually because of their longevity. I have been using these for about 3 weeks now and I have to say my manicure has lasted much longer than with any other non-permanent polish till date. My nail colour remains intact for a good 5 to 6 days despite down housework, cooking, etc… and it hasn’t dried my nails. My nails are very prone to getting ridges and cracks due to dryness which is one of the reasons why I can’t use Shellac or other gel polishes very often, but with this nail polish they are in perfect shape.

The colours I have tried have a great consistency and give you a completely opaque look in 2 coats. The brush is slightly wider than on normal Essie polishes so if your nails are quite narrow like mine you might need to do a bit of cleaning up around the edges but other than  that they are amazing. They don’t need a base coat and the special top coat that comes with the range doesn’t need to  dry under a lamp, which is great if you are doing your own manicure at home.

Overall I am super impressed with the range and if you are looking for a polish that looks, feels and lasts like gel but doesn’t dry out your nails and needs no lamp or special removal method then I think you may have found your match!

Best & Worst Of Charlotte Tilbury | Brand Review

Charlotte Tilbury has to be my all time favourite makeup brand and if you have been following this blog for a while this will not come as a surprise. I think I don’t have a single tutorial where I haven’t used at least one of her products. In this video I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the brand, and show you some of my favourite products and also tell you about some which I haven’t really grown to love.

This is one of the rare brands where I love pretty much every single product and while my absolutely standout product has to be her eyeshadow palettes, I think there a lot of great products in this brand and I think that it really shows that a very talented and experienced makeup artist is behind it.

I hope you enjoy this video and if you please don’t forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel.

Youtube Made Me Buy It

Today I have for you a TAG video. I don’t usually do many of these because sometimes I find them quite repetitive, but I saw this one on Fleur de Force’s channel and I loved it.  I think its a great video to find out about products that have been hyped in Youtube but that were actually worth the hype. I am going through all the beauty and skincare products that I have purchased over the last few years which were recommended by fellow Youtubers, and most of them have worked wonders so I hope you enjoy this video and if you do please don’t forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel.

Bridal Makeup Tutorial

Seen that Spring is here and wedding season is upon us, I decided to do a bridal makeup tutorial. Its a super classic timeless and very elegant look in my opinion, which I think would flatter most skin tones and face shapes. I have always thought that wedding looks should be fairly neutral because fashion changes and you don’t want to look at your wedding pictures 10 years from now and think ‘OMG what was I thinking!?’. So I have tried to keep the look quite simple and used makeup to enhance my natural features.

I am also sharing some tips and tricks of how to prep your skin before the big day and what you can do to make sure your makeup stays put for the whole day and doesn’t budge. This is also a great look if you have an important event coming up and you want your makeup to be super long lasting.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial and if you do please don’t forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel.
