Over the long easter weekend my husband and I went on a short city break to Paris and while I was there my I made a cheeky little purchase at Gucci.
My most favourite accessory has to be a handbag and given I was still due a birthday present my husband very kindly gifted me this exotic little beauty.
I have always been a fan of maxi bags but recently over the last year or so I have to admit I have fallen in love with smaller bags. I find them so comfortable to wear, they don’t weigh you down and I feel it has helped me cut down on the amount of things I carry with me, which has saved me a lot of back pain!
I had been looking for a small bag like this for a long time and had been pondering on whether I wanted another YSL tassel bag or the Chloe Drew Bag, but the second I entered Gucci, a brand I would’t normally be drawn to, and I saw this beauty on the shelf it was love at first sight and I knew I had to have it.
The bag is visually stunning, and its the perfect size to fit in all my essentials including a pair of sunnies. I love that its quite boxy and holds its shape really well. Its also perfect to take from day to night as you carry it over the shoulder but the strap is also long enough to wear it cross body, which makes it perfect for running around on a busy day. The chain strap also gives it a very elegant touch and because the bag is quite small I found it didn’t dig into my shoulder, even if I carried it over a long period of time. The gold hardware is stunning and beautifully compliments the coppery finish of the flap. I also love the pink pop of colour on the sides, as it gives the bag a bit of an edge whilst still keeping it quite feminine, and because main body of the bag is still very neutral you can easily pair it with most outfits.
The first day I wore this little beauty out, I was heading out for dinner at the hotel Plaza Athenee and I paired my bag with these black culottes, that I have been loving recently obsessed with and a cream coloured sleeveless blouse, from Zara from a couple of years ago. I loved the relaxed tailored feeling of this outfit which made it super chic and comfortable, but yet the cut out in the blouse and the belt that cinched my trousers to accentuate my waist kept it quite sexy and feminine.
I let the bag be the centre of attention of this whole look and kept the colour scheme of my outfit very neutral including a pair of pinky nude shoes by Louis Vuitton, with the perfect block heel.
For jewellery I decided to keep it minimal and went with a pair of gold hoops to compliment the top’s high neckline, a chunky rose gold ring and a very delicate bracelet.
